Our Journey
Manna Mission Hospital operates under Manna Mission in Teshie, Greater Accra. The mission behind the hospital is to provide Christ-centered compassionate medical care, combined with effective evangelism and strategic community health development.
The hospital began in a very small way in a rented building in Old Manna, Teshie. At the beginning, it operated with a U-Haul box of medications and a very basic operating theatre. Over time, it has grown significantly into a thriving 40-bed hospital that serves a heavily populated and underserved urban area.
The hospital is affiliated with the Ministry of Health in Ghana and is also an active member of the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG).
The hospital provides a wide range of services including: medical and surgical care, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT services, pediatrics, dental services, laboratory diagnostics, pharmacy services, radiology (including ultrasonography), geriatric care, community health services, family planning, and ART counseling
In terms of impact, over the past 30 years the hospital has recorded 692,363 outpatient visits, 77,611 admissions, 13,559 babies delivered, and 10,208 surgeries performed. It served as the main community hospital for Teshie from 1990 until the establishment of the LEKMA Hospital in 2010.
Beyond the hospital itself, Manna Mission has provided subsidized and often free medical outreach programs in general medicine, ophthalmology, gynecology, and surgery. These outreach programs have benefited communities in the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipality, Ada in the Dangbe East District, and several communities across the Eastern, Central, and Northern Regions of Ghana.
The hospital distinguishes itself through a comprehensive medical mission program that integrates both healthcare and ministry.
Both short-term and long-term medical professionals from international locations such as Manchester (UK), Tulsa, Indianapolis, Chicago, San Diego, and Virginia (USA) have contributed to its work. Students from Oral Roberts University School of Nursing have conducted over eighty outreach trips to support the hospital and assist in establishing and operating the Manna Nursing College.
Manna Mission Hospital has received significant recognition for its work. In 2012, it was awarded the First Private Baby Friendly Hospital in the Greater Accra Region.
In 2013, it received the Ministry of Health National Health Award as the Best Private Hospital in Greater Accra.
